PURPOSE:To obtain an efficient HlD lamp of below 125 W, which has reduced thermal loss from its ends, by preparing an electricity introducing member connected to an electrode from a cermet. CONSTITUTION:As illustrated in the figure, an emission tube 1 of below 125W is prepared from a ceramic member, and an electricity introducing member 4 connected to an electrode 3 is made of a cermet with a low thermal conductivity, which is prepared by mixing a metal oxide powder with a metal powder before the mixture is sintered, so that the thermal loss from the ends of the tube 1 is minimized. Alumina ceramic, magnesia ceramic or yttria ceramic is used for the tube 1, and it may of course be prepared from the monocrystal body of the oxide of such a matter. However, alumina ceramic is especially suitable for the tube 1 in terms of the durability and the cost. |
