Toy racing cars with track - are radio controlled via identification grids in track actuated by trailing contacts

Radio controlled toy racing cars are fitted with a trailing contact which is drawn over the racing track surface. Identification grids of electrical contacts are placed on the track so that as the car passes over the grid, a signal is emitted which identifies the car. The trailing contact attached to the car is split into a number of separate strips which may contact with different areas of the identification grid and emits a particular pattern of pulses for each vehicle as it passes over each grid.
