A lightweight-concrete building component is described, in which use is made of a displacer which is particularly easy to manufacture, is inexpensive and has virtually no dead weight. The displacer consists of a latticework, in particular a deformed welded wire mesh, having a film, in particular a shrunk-on plastics film, fixed thereto. Since the displacer can be manufactured without problems in a wide variety of forms, many different building components can be equipped with it, flat building components being preferred. Such a displacer can also be connected without problems to the reinforcement of the corresponding building component. Furthermore, methods for the manufacture of the displacers are described. <IMAGE>
