PURPOSE:To easily weld a desired joint surface only in a simplified process, by ultrasonic-welding thermoplastic resin folded up into a cylindrical or baggy state. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric trsnsducer 2 is connected to the output side of an oscillator 1, and a resonant horn 3 is firmly attached to the transducer 2 by screwing or the like. The transducer 2 and the horn 3 are constructed in a manner such that they are unitedly rotated around their central axial line by a motor. For instance, a workpiece (e.g. hard vinyl chloride film) 4, folded up into a cylindrical state, is located between a press roll 5 and the horn 3, an ulrasonic wave-generator is driven, and the transducer 2 is ultrasonically vibrated (amplitude of about 20-30mu) by the oscillation of the oscillator 1 and concurrently rotated around its central axial line as a unit with the horn 3. The work piece 4, being clamped between the press roll 5 and the horn 3, is successively fed to ultrasonically weld its joint surface. |
