Cooling sleeve for drawn steel bars - has nest of tubes on taper around sleeve with water flowing over tubes

The cooler drawn or for rolled stell bars is filled with a central tube (10) and a nest of bars fitted concentrically around the tube. The bars are held at each end by a bush (14, 19) and the bars ends are closer together at one end than the other. Each bush fits inside an outer casing sealed at the bush by 'O' rings. The cooling water is admitted to the casing through inlet pipes (3) fitted around the small end of the cooler. Due to the angle of the bars, a right angle section through the cooler shows elliptical bar sections with the major axis radial to the section.
