The clip is intended for securing a (sheet metal) shelf (14 is flange of shelf) to a (U-section) upright member (12) e.g. in a storage rack. It consists of steel spring wire shaped to have at least six bends (u-bends 1,2, U-bend of portions 11, L-bend 4, double L-bend 5,6) and straight portions (7-10) of which the two longer portions (7,8) are in a common plane and include an acute angle of pref. 22 deg. - The portion (7) is pref. longer than portion (8) and the angle between portions (7) and (10) is pref. no more than 30 deg. The fig. shows a left and a right-handed clip, the bends (1,2) engaging slots (16) in the flanges (14) whilst the bends (4) and (5,6) engage inclined (beta) slots (13) in the web of the upright (12).
