PURPOSE:To keep a roll at exact cross position and to facilitate rearrangement of rolls by shifting crossheads by selecting a shifting mode of a controlling mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When operating, a shifting mode that shifts a pair of crossheads in the same direction synchronously is selected by a controlling mechanism, and electric motors 31, 131, 231, 331 are synchronized by electric synchronizing function. When lower group of crossheads 38a, 238a are shifted to inlet direction of a rolling stock in operation side, upper group of crossheads 138a, 338a moves to the outlet direction by the same amount. In driving side, lower group of crossheads 138b, 338b are shifted to the direction of outlet side, and upper group of crossheads 38b, 238b are moved by the same amount. When rearranging the rolls, the motor is driven in the direction that separates a pair of crossheads from the roll chock. Large clearances are formed in both inlet and outlet sides and rearrangement is made easily. |
