The device recovers heat from combustion gases in flues. A main pipe projects into a chamber (1), inside which is a shield (4) running perpendicular to it. The gases swirl around the shield and leave by an outlet pipe. The shield is suspended on a support (5) and its position in the chamber can be adjusted by a screw acting on the support (5) or by racks applied to them. The chamber has a side opening (11) which can be blocked and there is an opening controlled by a valve to admit air.
