PURPOSE:To obtain an extrudate having excellent appearance, while promoting the gelling and uniform mixing of polyvinyl chloride composition powder, by adding a small amount of pellet, prepared by gelation of PVC, to the polyvinyl chloride composition powder, and then extruding the composition into an objective ahspe. CONSTITUTION:To PVC composition powder (A) (preferably of a soft type prepared by compounding PVC with a plasticizer such as diisodecyl phthalate, a stabilizer such as tribasic sulfate, etc.) is added a small amount of pellet (B) prepared by gelation of PVC (e.g. the same one as component A). The composition is then fed into a direct extruder, where the composition is let gel, mixed and extruded. Component B is preferably used at a ratio of 5-30pts.wt. or so to 100pts.wt. component A. In addition, 0.5-30pts.wt. processing assistant (e.g. chlorinated polyethylene) may be added to 100pts.wt. component A, to perform more stable, good extrusion. |
