<p>PURPOSE:To obtain in high yield a positive liquid crystal color display panel which is satisfactory in its display characteristic, by executing inclined vertical orientation processing to one substrate provided with an electrode for its inclined arrangement, and executing vertical orientation processing so as to be arranged in a state that it is not inclined. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 and 2 are glass substrates provided with transparent electrodes 3, 4, respectively, partially on the inside surface, and at least one of them is indium oxide, etc. In a state before voltage is applied, a liquid crystal molecule 5 and a color element molecule 6 are arranged so that their long axesare inclined by a small angle (alpha) in a constant direction against a normal in the vicinity of the substrate 1, and on the other hand, in the vicinity of the substrate 2, the liquid crystal molecule 5 and the color element molecule 6 are not inclined against the normal of the substrate and are arranged vertically. The inclined angle (alpha) is selected by a condition being 0<alpha<=4 deg., by which a mixing material of an Ni liquid crystal and a color element has been sealed between both the substrates. Also, in order to obtain a decolored state when voltage is not applied, and to obtain a colored pattern when voltage is applied, a display material is added so that a pitch P becomes larger than a display material layer (d)(d/P<1).</p> |
