Preparation of N-hydroxy and N-acylated amine(s)

Preparation of N-hydroxy and N-acylated amines of formula (II) is an enzymatic method. The method comprises reacting /- 1 secondary amine of formula (III) with /- 1 acylating reagent (IV). R1CONRR' (II) RNHR' (III) R = 1-8C alkyl, possibly substituted by an -OX group; X = H or 1-4C alkyl group; R' = 1-30C aliphatic or 6-30C aromatic hydrocarbon group (possibly substituted by an aliphatic hydrocarbon group) substituted by at least one -OX group, and R1 = 2-30C aliphatic or 6-30C aromatic hydrocarbon group possibly substituted by /- 1 OH group and/or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group.
