PURPOSE:To be able to cut thread, regardless of metric or inch thread, by providing a means of facilitating adjustment of thread pitch and cutting stroke, to an automatic thread cutter which is easily attachable to a bench lathe and the like. CONSTITUTION:Adjustment of thread pitch is performed by turning an adjusting nut, which consists of a dial gauge 49, to set it to a gauge, and to set it in a set position. Then, a slide plate 42 is moved along the dovetail groove of a side plate 41 by the intermediary of a rod 45, and the slide plate 42 is adjusted and fixed to the set position, corresponding to a thump nut 46. With such an arrangement, an adjusting link block 33 is moved by a pin 43, which is fixed to the slide plate 42, and the link ratio to each pin 32, 37 from the pin 43 is changed, so that the feed amount of a slide block 36 to the feed amount of a half nut device 25 is changed, therefore, the thread pitch can be changed and adjusted, optionally, regardless of metric thread or inch thread. |
