A static bridge network formed of SCRs is connected to the three phases at the output of the rotor. The stator is supplied from the three phase lines of the industrial network. Normally, the DC output of the rotor bridge (RBS) passes into a DC loop contg. a smoothing reactance and shunt resistance. Between the positive and negative terminals of the loop, an inverter bridge of thyristors feeds the prim. windings of a transformer coupled to the three-phase lines. A signal representing the rotor current is applied to a current regulator with a reference input derived from a speed regulator and tachometer. The thyristor firing angles of the respective bridges are adjusted as a function of speed to return rotor energy to the supply network. |
