The present invention consists in the development of a rapid kit for the diagnosis of hydatidosis, able to detect the presence of specific antibodies to infestation by the larva of Echinococcus. The kit is based on immunochromatography where there is a reactive band on an inert substrate able to retain the immunocomplexes formed with the antigens of the parasite. As biological reagents, use can be made of blood serum as biological fluids. This kit can be used for the detection of antibodies and also for the detection of substances capable of behaving as antigens. This kit discriminates positive cases from negative cases, with a coloured band appearing on an inert substrate in positive cases. <IMAGE>
