PURPOSE:To obtain an image pickup element which has a short time of transfer and can deliver only the electric signal to the partial light in the form of an image pickup signal, by setting a discharging electrode in parallel to the transfer line of an electric charge coupling element. CONSTITUTION:The diodes 1a and 1b that store the electric charge corresponding to the incident light volume transfer the stored electric charge as the video signal to the elements 3a and 3b among the elements 3a, 4a, 3b and 4b that form the 1st transfer line by the signal which is supplied from a terminal A which is applied via a gate 2. This electric charge is sent into the 1st transfer line by the control signals applied to the terminals B and C and fed to the 2nd transfer line comprising of the elements 5a-5c and 6a-6c, farther lead to an output amplifier 7 by the control signals given from the terminals E and D. In case the video signal fed to the 2nd transfer line is not required, a reset gate 8 is driven through a terminal F. Then the electric charge of the elements 5a-5c is discharged immediately via a terminal G. |
