PURPOSE:To enable rapid detection of ignition and extinguishment, by providing at least either of an ignition deciding means, calculating a ratio of change of temperature to time, and deciding that fuel is ignited when the rate of change exceeds a given value, and an extinguishing deciding means, deciding that flame is not fining when the rate of change is decreased to a given value of less. CONSTITUTION:A temperature in a combustion part M1 is detected by a temperature detecting part M2, a ratio of change of a detected temperature to a time is calculated by means of a rate of change calculating means M3, and ignition of fuel or extinguishment can be detected by deciding whether the calculated rate of change exceeds or is below a given value by means of an ignition deciding means M6. Namely, from a change in temperature in the combustion part M1 right after ignition or extinguishment, ignition or extinguishment is detected before temperature in the combustion part M1 is sufficiently increased and decreased. This constitution enables rapid detection of ignition of fuel and extinguishment, and permits safe handling of a burner. |
