摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preserve gradations in gradation image areas, when an original is printed by platemaking while mixing plural binary image areas having different levels of density, to prevent a pale character in the binary image area from being blurred or extinguished or a character written on the deep base from being crushed and to provide a printed matter, with which a sense of incompatibility due to the step in density does not occur. SOLUTION: In an image processor 100, a 1st analysis means 114 analyzes a binary image likeness and gradation image likeness of a concerned pixel. When the concerned pixel is a pixel consisting of a line narrower than fixed width, a 2nd analytic means 116 calculates a two-dimensional (2D) line feature amount concerning the density difference of line and its base. Based on the analyzed result of the 1st analytic means 114 and the 2D linear feature amount, a judging means 122 multistepwisely judges the binary image suck as level of concerned pixel. Based on this judged result, an adaptive density converting means 124 converts the density of concerned pixel. A binarizing means 130 binarizes the density converted concerned pixel as needed.
