The panel 3 is provided with ten-keys 8a for numbers, a clear key 8b, an exchange key 8R, foreign currency designation keys 8f-8i, a single article code key 8c, a department code key 8d, etc. Purchased articles are inputted with keys 8c and 8d and ten-keys, and money is received in a foreign currency designated by keys 8f-8i. Prices of articles are read out from the RAM of the main body, and the total amount of money and the amount of received money are calculated in a foreign currency designated by cash total keys 8j-8m and are displayed in yen and the foreign currency, and a receipt is printed and is given together with the change. In case of the conversion from the foreign currency to yen, fractions of the amount of money in the foreign currency are raised to avoid the lack of the change.
