PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surge suppression clipper module which detects the abnormality of an IGBT accurately when a plurality of IGBT's are connected in parallel to each other and protect the IGBT's. SOLUTION: A capacitor 3a and a diode 3b are connected in series to each other and their connection point (terminal tCLR) is used as a clipping voltage application point. A current detector 3c is connected in series to the series circuit of the capacitor 3a and the diode 3b. When a plurality of IGBT's (insulated gate bipolar mode transistors) which are main circuit devices of an inverter are connected in parallel to each other, the current unbalance between respective parallel circuits is detected by the current detector 3c. The detection signal of the detector 3c is supplied for a protective operation. |
