The folding table has a pair of hinge arms(120,130) pivoted to a wall & table pivots(122,132) for connecting the arms to the underside of the table surface. The arms & pivots allow movement of the table surface(110) between a vertical storage position & a horizontal in use position. The axis of the lower pivot(122) on the table surface is spaced below a plane passing through the other pivot(132) & parallel to the surface when the latter is horizontal to the first axis when passing through a plane containing an upper one of the arms & its pivot axis, provides an overcenter resistance to hold the table surface vertical.
