The fertilizer granules were coated with a compn. contg. a polyolefin-type resin, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or a polyvinylidene-type resin, and a finely powd. mimeral material. Thus, a coating prepd. from a mixt. of 60% polyethylene with 40% ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer 0.8 parts, talc 0.2 part, and surface-active agent (octaoxyethylene nnonyl ph ether 0.0008 parts, the total coat material constituting 5% of the fertilizer solids wt. resulted in the slowest rate of dissoln. (0.8% after 24hr in H2O).
