PURPOSE:To detect the position of an optical scanning system precisely with a simple structure by detecting colored paper by a color sensor. CONSTITUTION:The 1st, 2nd and 3rd colored paper 61, 62, 63 are respectively fitted to the positions opposed to a home position (a), the 1st return position (b) and the 2nd return position (c) of an optical scanning system 1 along the scanning direction shown by an arrow (d) so as to be close to an edge part intersecting with the scanning direction (d) of the manuscript setting board 2 at the lower surface 5 of the body 5 of a copying machine. A color sensor 7 is set on the optical scanning system 1 so as to correspond to the colored paper 61-63. The color sensor 7 changes detection voltage R according to the color of the colored paper 61-63 to be detected and a comparator 9 compares the detected voltage with the one previously fixed in the comparator 9; when these signals coincide with each other, coincident signals R1-R3 are outputted respectively. Each signal is inputted to a control circuit 4 and applied to logical operation with a paper size signal R4 from a copying paper size detector 10 or a manuscript size signal R5 from a manuscript size detector 11 and an optical scanning system driving signal R6 is outputted to an optical scanning system driving device 13. |
