PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for transporting forging products for the purpose of reheating and to improve the efficiency of forging by performing forging in molten glass. CONSTITUTION:When forging products M are put into an initial heating tank 22 and an air compressor 17 is operated, air is forced into the upper part in a tank 12 from an air reservoir 17a through the second communicating pipe 20 and an air vent pipe 18, then the molten glass 10 in the tank 12 is pressed and is supplied into the tank 22, whereby the forging products M are initially heated. The initially heated forging products M are heated in a heating furnace. Said products are gripped with a manipulator 34 and are put into a bath tank 6 where the products are placed on a cradle 7. When the 1st stop valve 16 is opened after the 3rd, 5th stop valves 26, 28 are closed, the molten glass 10 in the tank 12 is supplied through the 1st communicating pipe 15 into the tank 6 by the air pressure in the upper part in the tank 12, and forces the forging products M on the cradle 7 to be dipped in the molten glass, whereby the products are insulated of heat. In this state, the products M are forged with a punch 3a. |
