PURPOSE:To facilitate passing-through work, monitoring of rolling state, and maintenance and inspection of rolls, etc. by improving a roll stand in such a way that the side part areas for a rolling material are opened, thereby permitting the operator's access to the roll parts for rolling. CONSTITUTION:A rolling mill consisting of a roll stand 2 provided with a post 9 and projections 10U, 10L for determination of upper and lower positions spacially and oppositely disposed on top and bottom before or behind the post 9 in the advancing direction of a rolling material 1, upper, lower roll chocks 7U, 7L inserted freely vertically movably between the post 9 and the projections 10U, 10L, and members 15 for positioning of the chocks provided at the turning ends of swiveling arms 13U, 13L pivoted freely turnably to the post 9. Said members 15 are engaged freely removably with the chocks 7U, 7L by turning of the arms 13U, 13L, by which the chocks 7U, 7L are prevented form moving to the space directions in the forward and backward directions with respect to the post 9. |
