PURPOSE:To form an electrostatic latent image which is assured in brightness attenuation by using a specified hydrogenated amorphous carbon film as an electric charge transfer layer and a separately specified hydrogenated or fluorinated amorphous silicon germanium film as an electric charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:The charge transfer layer 2 and the charge generating layer 3 are successively laminated on a conductive substrate 1. The hydrogenated amorphous carbon film into which at least oxygen atoms are incorporated is used for the transfer layer 2 and the hydrogenated amorphous silicon germanium film into which nitrogen atoms are incorporated and at least either of phosphorus atoms or boron atoms are incorporated or the fluorinated amorphous silicon germanium film into which the nitrogen atoms are incorporated and at least either of the phosphorus atoms or boron atoms are incorporated is used for the generating layer 3. After the surface of the photosensitive body formed in the above-mentioned manner is electrically charged, the surface is subjected to image exposure, by which the electrostatic latent image assured in the brightness attenuation is formed. |
