PURPOSE:To reinforce the titled connecting part without tension by using a composite tube formed by inserting inorganic reinforcing tubes and resin tubes between heat contractive tubes so as to form multilayers. CONSTITUTION:When an optical fiber core of an optical fiber strand is covered with a composite tube formed by inserting thermoplastic resin tubes 1 and inorganic reinforcing tubes 2 between heat contractive tubes so as to form multilayers and contracted by heating, the resin tubes 1 contacted with the optical fiber strand 6 is also melted by heating and the periphery of the optical fiber strand is filled and fixed with the melted resin tube 1. The resin 1 between inorganic reinforcing materials is also melted and the inorganic reinforcing materials are filled with the resin and adhered and unified with the heat contractive tube 3. If thin rods 4 formed by hardening the inorganic material with the resin are inserted between the heat contractive tubes 3 perpendicularly, the mechanical strength of the connection part is more improved.
