PURPOSE:To disperse abrasion and to make the abrasion uniform over a wide range of roll barrel parts by making work rolls shiftable in axial directions by means of a lever provided to housing. CONSTITUTION:A rolling mill consisting of work rolls 1, 2 for rolling a rolling material 3, bearing boxes 13, 14, fitted to the rolls 1, 2 and a moving device for moving the rolls 1, 2 in their axial directions. Said moving device is formed of a lever 15 which engages with the boxes 13, 14, is provided to housing 8 and is turnable around a fulcrum, and jacks 11, 12 or cylinders for turning the lever 15. By the above-metioned rolling mill, the abrasion concentrating in the contact parts in both end parts of a material 3 to be rolled is dispersed and the abrasion is dispersed uniformly over a wide range of the roll barrel parts. |
