PURPOSE:To enable automatization with a higher treatment capacity of flaws by a method wherein flaws are inspected in a range including areas before and after welded parts detecting the rotational position of an object to be inspected based on signals of a position detector and the results are compared with values of test pieces completely welded to determine the quality. CONSTITUTION:An object to be inspected, in which joints of base metals 1 and 2 are welded partly at several points is turned with a motor 5. With a probe 8 fixed, flaws of the object are inspected in a water tank and from the results of a timing generation circuit 20 in which ultrasonic wave signals obtained are processed with a flaw detector 9, the sum is counted 10 between the number of defects of the welded parts and the number of false defects of unwelded parts. On the other hand, prior to the inspection of flaws, the results of a test piece completely welded in the same material as the object to be inspected are stored into a memory 16 for correcting the number of defects. The contents of the memory 16 are subtracted with a substraction circuit 17 from the counted values of a circuit 10 for counting the number of defects whereby flaws of the welded parts can be inspected almost completely. |
