PURPOSE:To shorten the computing time and to decrease the memory capacity for 1 frame, by computing the basic data for computing the angle of the inertial moment axis by hardware with a binary coded picture signal being inputted. CONSTITUTION:With the positional data in the X and Y directions of the picture formed by the binary coded picture signal DV as addresses, the first and second memories 5 and 6 are sequentially retrieved. Only the retrieved values corresponding to the picture elements in the binary coded picture are sequentially added 9 and 11, and SIGMAX<2>i and SIGMAY<2>i are obtained. With each value indicating the sum of both maximum position data in the X and Y directions from ''2'' as addresses, the third memory 15, wherein the squared value of each value is stored, is retrieved. With each value which is obtained by subtracting ''1'' from the larger value of the maximum values in the X and Y directions from ''0'' as an addresses, the fourth memory 16, wherein the squared value of each value is stored, is sequentially retrieved. The retrieved data of the memory 16 is subtracted 17 from the memory 15. Only the subtracted data corresponding to the picture elements are sequentially added 18, and the values corresponding to SIGMAXiYi are obtained. |
