Coaxial water-cooled cable - with specified helix angle for outer core and specified diameter ratio for both outer and inner core

A water-cooled, flexible, double-pole cable with a central forward conductor and an outer return conductor inside a hose of insulating material includes an insulating sheath which surrounds the central conductor with a clearance filled with the coolant. The outer conductors are wound over the sheath at an angle of 15-82 degrees to the longitudinal cable axis. The core dia. of the outer conductor is made equal to that of the central conductor, divided by the root of the number of cores in the return line. The cable is used for joining pendulous welding tongs to the power transformer. Electrodynamic 'kicks' of such a cable are removed while high electrical quality characteristics are retained.
