<p>Reinforced products with a hydraulic binder are made contg. acrylonitrile polymer fibres with 98-100 mol.% acrylonitrile units as reinforcing fibres and/or fillers. Pref. the fibres have a strength of 50 cN/tex and an elongation at break of at least 15%, a uniform length of 3-24 mm or a non-uniform length of up to 30 mm and a titer of 0.1-15 dtex. The polyacrylonitrile fibres are useful replacements for natural fibres such as asbestos in asbestos-cement type prods. such as sheets, corrugated sheets, pipes and moulded building parts. They can be processed by normal equipment used for making conventional asbestos cement sheets such as winding machine, rotary screen, flat screen, injection unit or filter press.</p> |
