The technical problem of the invention resides in the accurate, reactionless and backlash-free detection of the position of a cylindrical rod. This problem is solved by pressing on a feeler shaft perpendicular to the axis of the cylindrical rod, the linear movement of the rod being converted into a rotary movement and tapped in an angle pulse generator.
