摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally adjust image sharpness by adjusting the degree of modulation transfer function MTF correction by providing a selecting means at the time of detecting the continuity of white parts and black parts of an original and performing laser exposure. SOLUTION: An image forming device is provided with an image quality adjusting device so as to select the strength of an MTF filter. In thin line edge parts of A that shows a picture signal level that undergoes analog/digital conversion of each pixel which is arranged in a horizontal scan direction, the density of each pixel and thin lines in a vertical scan direction, black part rises hang down owing to the effects of peripheral white parts. About this, an MTF filter detects the continuity of white parts and black parts and emphasizes the difference between the white and black parts. In such a case, when soft, regular and sharp of a strength adjustment key of the MTF filter are selected, they are adjusted respectively as B, C and D. It is possible to output an image that has optimum sharpness by selecting the MTF filter according to a faint original and a thick original.
