Folded composite yarn - untwisted yarn folded with double twisted yarn

The production of a folded composite yarn is effected by submitting the first component to double twisting, and bringing the second component with no twist of its own into the ring guide above the double twisting device so that the two yarns are folded together. Woollen yarns, e.g. for pull-overs, are double twisted then folded with e.g. a synthetic yarn to improve the strength and smoothness.
