PURPOSE:To produce a soft magnetic material excellent in the volume resistivity, magnetic characteristics and corrosion resistance, by increasing the ratio of Cr and Al in an Fe/Cr/Al alloy, and annealing and cooling the alloy at a temperature in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel consisting of 13-34wt% Cr, 2-8wt% Al, up to 0.008% C, up to 0.015% N, up to 0.015% O and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities is produced by a vacuum melting method or the like, and it is finally formed into a sheet, rod or the like. The thus processed steel is heated at a temperature range of 1,000-1,250 deg.C for 10-40min, and subsequently is annealed at a cooling rate of 10-100 deg.C/min at least in the range of 900- 500 deg.C to obtain a corrosion-resistant soft magnetic material having a volume resistivity >=100muOMEGA-cm, a maximum permeability >=5,000 and a coercive force <=0.50e. If the contents of Al and Cr are increased in said material, the volume resistivity, the corrosion resistance and the coercive force can be augmented. |
