<p>The sealing cap is particularly for bottles, having a cylindrical skirt fitting round the bottle neck, while its crown forms a seal against the edge of the latter. The skirt is divided into segments (5) by a number of axial slots (4) open to the underside, each with a protrusion (6) extending radially inwards. The latter has a bottom chamfer (8) so as to deflect the segment outwards on fitting the cap, and a top one (7) engaging below a mating face or shoulder on the bottle neck. A locking ring (3) can be thrust over the cap in the axial direction, working against an outer bead or thickened portion on the skirt.</p> |
