The pump (10) includes a conduit (14) having an inlet portion (16), and outlet portion (18), and a coiled central portion (20). A rotor arm (36) is mounted for rotation within the loop. An end of the arm (36) remote from the axis about which the arm (36) rotates impinges upon the inner peripheral surface (38) of the loop as it rotates. The coiled central portion (20) is pinched closed by the arm (36), and fluid, forwardly of the pinched closed location with respect to an intended direction of pumping, is pushed through the conduit (14) and into the outlet portion (18) thereof. A roller (40) can be mounted at the remote end of the arm (36) for rolling engagement with the inner peripheral surface (38) of the central portion (20). The roller (40) can have a relatively small angular circumscription with respect to the axis (24) about which the conduit (14) is coiled. Only a single rotor arm (36) is provided. |
