PURPOSE:To form a connector in a settable/unsettable way, by attaching a ferrule consisting of a split pieces holding a linear material like an optical fiber, etc. to a sleeve to melt-sticking them with ultrasonic waves and then storing a light emitting element, a photodetector, etc. into a cap to melt-sticking them to a bush with ultrasonic waves. CONSTITUTION:A ferrule 1 includes two split pieces 1a and 1a made of a synthetic resin. These pieces 1a are joined and closed to each other via a hinge part 1b to hold a coated fiber 2. Such ferrule 1 is inserted into a sleeve 3 to be unified into a body by melt-sticking the upper end surface of a storing part 3a to a flange part 1f with ultrasonic waves. On the other hand, a light emitting element or a photodetector 4 are stored in a cap 5, and the cap 5 is stored in a bush 6 to be unified into a body through the ultrasonic melt-sticking process given at the stepped part where the cap 5 abuts on the bush 6. An L-shape engaging groove 6d is provided on the outer circumference surface of the bush 6. The engaging bar of the sleeve 3 is engaged to the groove 6d. Thus a linear material like an optical fiber, etc. is fixed assuredly without imparing the linear material and also can be set or unset to/from a light emitting element or a photodetector. |
