In multi-spindle lathes in which several tool holders are arranged on a cross slide, the problem occurs that, during a cross slide adjustment for the purpose of correcting a tool, all the other tools will be adjusted along with this tool. This makes it necessary to provide guides and adjusting devices at the tool holders. In the invention, this adjustment of the tool carriers is effected by slides (2, 12) which are arranged on the cross slide between two components to be adjusted relative to one another and can be adjusted by motor. These slides (2) are each inserted in a positive-locking manner into a guide (3, 14) of the components to be adjusted. They have guide grooves (4, 15) in which in each case a guide strip (8, 13) of the component engages. The component does not guide the respective slide on the outside. The guide grooves and the outside guides of the slides (2, 12) are offset at an angle to one another. A relatively large displacement of the slides thereby leads to a small adjustment of the tool holder. <IMAGE>
