In the case of an insulating facade for structures, in particular for old buildings, a wire grid (1), preferably a corrugated grid, is arranged between an insulating layer (22), e.g. consisting of mineral wool, and an exterior plaster layer (23). Said wire grid is used, on the one hand, for attaching the insulating layer (22) by means of fastening elements (9, 11, 12) on the exterior wall of the structure and, on the other hand, as plaster carrier for the exterior plaster. This insulating facade is particularly suitable for cladding old buildings, irrespective of the type and construction of the exterior walls, the wire grid (1) serving, on the one hand, as fastening means and, on the other hand, as plaster carrier. <IMAGE>
