In order to increase the production rate of an assembly of wafers while preserving its high quality, each edge of the wafer sheet at the bottom of the pile of wafer sheets (14) is registered. The deposit of other sheets of this packet is controlled by the arrival sequence of said edges. The flanges in the packets of wafer sheets are offset with respect to their transport direction, or they may be aligned with respect to each other. The registering of said edges of neighbouring wafer sheets is effected by bringing close to each other the edges, by offsetting of by separation. Each wafer sheet of the next layers is brought to its waiting position, in the wafer sheet setting device (4) which follows the head (13) producing a coating of cream layer. There, the sheet is placed on its cream layer, and pressed against the latter, in relation to the arrival of the edge of said wafer sheet coming from the bottom. The assembly thus form is used as an intermediary product or manufacturing millefeuilles and other confectionery wafers. |
