Friction linings for friction clutches are produced by mixing binders and lining materials with staple fibres to form a homogeneous mixture, extruding this mixture to form one or more strands, winding these strands directly to form an annular disc, drying and hot-press moulding the disc and allowing it to cure and finally smoothing the surfaces of this blank disc by machining.
