<p>This invention relates to oriented polyester shaped, molded, or formed objects having improved ultraviolet stability and to a process for producing the same and to compositions used in making such objects. More particularly, the invention relates to an oriented linear polyester film, fiber, foils, sheets, and other shaped, molded, or formed objects prepared from polyester compositions containing poly(hydroxybenzophenone) or poly(hydroxybenzotriazole) ultraviolet stabilizers which when oriented provide objects having improved weatherability. Poly(hydroxybenzophenone) and poly(hydroxybenzotriazole) ultraviolet stabilizers are those stabilizers which contain two or more hydroxybenzophenone or hydroxybenzotriazole moieties.</p> |
