A high Cv bulk process valve (1) and control system (12) convey a process gas or liquid through a fluid passage (5). The fluid passage contains an aerodynamically shaped expansion chamber (9) within which a valve seat (6) and a moveable poppet (7) are arranged for opening and closing the fluid passage. The aerodynamically shaped expansion chamber includes a conically expanding entry (10) and a conically contracting exit (11).
