The mechanism to give a relative angle setting to a powered shaft, especially the camshaft (1) of an internal combustion motor, has a drive wheel (8) keyed to the shaft through a drive flange (15) and a bush (4). An adjustment unit (5) sets the angle of the drive wheel (8) against the shaft. For mounting at the shaft, the mechanism has a shaped and an orienting unit. The shaped unit work with a counter unit at the shaft in a positive fit, in a corresponding angle setting. The orienting unit is at a defined rotary angle position from the shaped unit. After assembly, the drive wheel (8) is rotated with a corresponding orienting unit at the motor (6) or cylinder head to give a matched setting position.
