PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a trouble, e.g. choking with a sheet, by a method wherein, when manual insertion sheet feed is selected, selection of a double/composite copy mode, being the sheet feed mode of a sheet refeed device, is prohibited. CONSTITUTION:When it is detected from OFF of a manual insertion tray detecting switch SW9 that manual insertion sheet feed from a manual insertion tray 36 is selected, a control device turns OFF double and composite copy mode LEDs. Simultaneously, solenoids, driving respective switch claws 160 and 165 of a sheet refeed device 130, are brought into an OFF-state, and a double copy mode and a composite copy mode, being the sheet feed mode of the sheet refeed device 130, are automatically prohibited. In place of the manual insertion tray detecting switch SW9, a signal from a sensor Se2, detecting that a copy sheet is inserted in the manual insertion tray 36, may be used. This constitution prevents the feed of a copy sheet incapable of being contained to the sheet refeed device, and enables prevention of the occurrence of a trouble, e.g. choking with a sheet. |
