PURPOSE:To simplify the work of casting an outer hull ring and eliminate the need of machining the inner surface of the ring by coupling the outer hull ring to a shaft disposed concentrically through a spacer ring inserted into the inner surface of the outer hull ring. CONSTITUTION:An outer hull ring 1 comprising a cylinderical ring formed of cast iron which is surpassingly wear-resisting and a shaft 3 of a roll are coupled to each other through a spacer ring 2. In this case, the shaft 3 and the spacer ring 2 are rubbed against each other and coupled to each other, both of which are placed on the center concentric with the outer hull ring 1. A fixing ring 6 is brought into contact with the lower end of the roll and secured to the shaft 3 or the spacer ring 2 by bolts 7. In order to secure a clamping nut 4 to the upper ends of both rings 1, 2, the nut 4 is fitted in the shaft 3 from above and secured to the ring 2 by bolts 5. Adhesives or metal having low melting point is poured into a coupling portion between both rings 1, 2 to fix sliding between both the rings 1, 2. |
