PURPOSE:To lsssen stress produced in a spring member in a damped bearing suitable for a rotary machine operated at the critical speed by providing a spring body for elastically supporting the bearing which comprises a spring member of multi-layer structure, and disposing the spring body on the outer periphery of the bearing. CONSTITUTION:A bearing 2 for supporting a rotary shaft 1 rotated at high speed comprises several tilting pads 2a arranged on the periphery of the shaft and adapted to directly support the rotary shaft 1, holding portions 2b for holding the pads and seal covers 2c. The bearing 2 is elastically supported on a housing 6 which is the inner periphery of a casing 5 by a spring body 3. A damper portion 4 formed of a squeeze film (oil film) is interposed between the outer peripheral surface of the bearing 2 and the inner peripheral surface of the housing 6. At this case the spring body 3 comprises flanges 3b and 3c respectively fixed on the housing 6 and the bearing 2, spring members 3a1, 3a2 interposed in layers between the flanges and an intermediate flange 3d for coupling each end portion of both members 3a1, 3a2. |
