PURPOSE:To obtain hydrocarbons having the boiling point in the range of that of gasoline in high yield stably, by bringing a lower aliphatic oxygen compound into contact with a catalyst obtained by adding iron, ruthenium, and rhodium to crystalline zeolite. CONSTITUTION:The desired hydrocarbons are obtained by bringing a lower aliphatic oxygen compound (e.g., methanol, dimethyl ether, etc.) into contact with a catalyst obtained by adding (B) iron and (C) ruthenium and/or rhodium to (A) crystalline zeolite (preferably ZSM-5 type zeolite having pore diameters of 6- 9 deg.CA, etc.) having a molar ratio of silica to metal oxide of >=10, usually in a static bed. In introducing the component B and the component C into the component A, preferably the fine powder of the component A is soaked in an aqueous solution of a salt comprising the component B and the component C, the zeolite is subjected to cation exchange, dried and calcined. EFFECT:The catalyst has high activity and the activity is slightly reduced even by long-term use.
|
