PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of ascending and descending motion of a load to the needed minimum by setting an automatic stop position of an elevating carriage at a high position when a load with legs at both sides of the bottom is delivered, and same at a low position in case of a no-legged load. CONSTITUTION:In storing a load to a shelf 2, either a no-legged load 14 or a legged load 16 is set to use a detecting signal from a carriage level detecting switch 17 in case of the no-legged load 14, and to use the other switch 18 in case of the legged load 16. For example, in case of the legged load 16, a carriage 7 is stopped when the switch 18 detects a detected member 22 corresponding to a level L2, and after a running fork 8 is advanced, the carriage 7 is lowered. When the switch 18 detects a detected member 21 corresponding to a level L4, the carriage 7 is stopped and the running fork 8 is retreated. |
